Sherry Becker, LCSW, RPT
Welcome to Play Solutions Inc., where we believe every individual—child, teen, or adult—deserves to feel supported, valued, and understood. Our founder, Sherry Becker, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Registered Play Therapist, and EMDR-trained therapist with over 25 years of experience supporting individuals and families from diverse backgrounds.

Our team provides more than play therapy. While we specialize in child-centered approaches that help children process emotions, build resilience, and develop healthy coping skills, we also provide a range of therapeutic services for teens and adults. Using compassionate, evidence-based, and trauma-informed care, we work collaboratively to address life’s challenges and support meaningful growth.

Master's of Social Work from East Carolina University
Sherry Becker earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington in 1995 and her Master of Social Work from East Carolina University in 2001.
As Hampstead’s only Registered Play Therapist, Sherry has completed extensive specialized training in play therapy, including more than 150 hours of advanced education, over 350 hours of direct client experience, and 35 hours of professional supervision. She remains committed to ongoing professional development and participates in continuing education each year to further strengthen her skills and provide the highest quality care to the children and families she serves.

Monaco Training Center
She has completed EMDR training at the Monaco Training Center, which is recognized by EMDRIA. She is actively pursuing the certification requirements set by EMDRIA to further enhance her skills.
A native of eastern North Carolina, Sherry lives in Hampstead with her husband, daughter, and six beloved pets. An avid animal lover, she enjoys spending time at the beach searching for sea glass. In her free time, she finds joy in creating art with her beach finds, reading, gardening, and hunting for treasures at thrift stores!
